The Story

Since 2011, San Jose has met in a downtown plaza or park on Valentine's Day Weekend, equipped with pillows and laughter to experience some friendly fun with feathers and fury. Inspired by SF's Great Pillow Fight, San Jose decided that it was grown enough to have their own! Spurred by the inclusive and active bike community, word spread and history was made! This is your chance to join and continue that silly tradition that livens up our beloved Downtown San Jose! Costumes Encouraged. #BringYourOwnPillow. So, let the anticipation begin for you veteran pillow-pugilists and the curiosity unfold for you first-timer feather throwers. #pillowfightsj Now, remember, the ONLY way this works is that you share the news and spread the word. Invite all your friends, family, neighbors, and strangers to some silly public fun! Here is some HISTORY

Each year we moved around to find the best location. Cesar Chavez park was a great central space but the feathers were difficult to clean up from the grass. We started looking for a cement surface, and what better place the large cement slab of City Hall! City Hall was awesome but much too big for our smaller crowd. Pillow Fight works better when its a tighter space. Plus the clean up was difficult as the feathers flew in the wind far away. Circle of Palms was one of the best spaces, even Fairmont helped promote us! Unfortunately, feathers were found in the drains of the palms trees and very difficult to clean up. Hammer Theater was OK but again the feathers woudl get swept away in the open plaza. However it led us to our current home of the Paseo itself. This "box" like structure has made it very easy for the community to clean up, for the city to support the clean up as well as to maintain the after-effects of the fun. So CAMERA 12 is where we are making our homestead. :) DECORATIONS: - Chalk ---
- Fence (Camera 12 closing had a fence put up and it was not a pleasant backdrop to our photography heavy background) So insprired by Sunset680.org, we decorated the fence with yarn! - Panels ???
